Amos 1:2 The Lord roars from Zion, and from Jerusalem He utters His voice.

WE would do well to take HEED!

Amos 1:1 The words of Amos, among the sheepherders from Tekoa.

WE would do well to notice the poor who LEAD.

Amos 1:3-2:16 Thus says the Lord, for three transgressions….and for four I will not revoke its punishment.

WE would do well to not break His CREED!

Amos 2:6 Because they sell the righteous for money, and the needy for a pair of sandals.

WE would do well to deplore the GREED

And the corruption and injustice of those in NEED!

Amos 2:7 And a man and his father resort to the same girl.

WE would do well to avoid all sexual immorality in DEED!

Amos 2:8 …stretch out beside every altar, and in the house of their God they drink the wine of those who have been fined.

WE would do well to avoid all rebellion and idolatry to which they SPEED!

Amos 3:6 If a calamity occurs in a city has not the Lord done it?

WE would do well to repent and penitently PLEAD.

Amos 3:7-8 Surely the Lord God does nothing unless he reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets,

A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken, who can but prophesy?

WE would do well to listen to His prophets and from Amos READ!

Amos 3:10 “But they do not know how to do what is right,” declares the Lord, “those who hoard up violence and devastation in their citadels.”

WE would do well to bind up those who BLEED.

Amos 3:12 Thus says the Lord “Just as the shepherd snatches from the lion’s mouth a couple of legs or a piece of an ear. So will the sons of Israel be snatched away.”

Thanks be to God, that even part of an ear can hear and two legs can still run toward the Messiah of Israel, in His Day to come….where they will indeed be FREED!

Amos 5:15 Perhaps the Lord God of hosts may be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.

All because of HIM who came as the Holy One of Israel, born of a virgin, the Holy SEED.

Amos 5:24 But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.

Let US pluck up the courage to pull out the unrighteous WEED!

And thank God He has planted Israel once more in the land, no longer a swaying REED.

Amos 9:15 I will also plant them on their land and they will not again be rooted out from their land which I have given them,” says the Lord your GOD.

To pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and learn from these lessons how not to IMPEDE,

God’s righteous and just course, His kingdom to SUCCEED!
